Davis Instruments Sensor Stations

Davis Instruments sensor stations are wireless devices designed to support a variety of included or add-on sensors. Their wireless leaf and soil moisture/temperature stations monitor up to four temperature-compensated soil moisture sensors and two leaf wetness sensors simultaneously. These stations are solar-powered and include battery backup. The soil moisture, temperature, and leaf-wetness sensors are optional and can be ordered to meet the needs of your application.

Their complete wireless soil moisture/temperature station comes prepackaged with four soil moisture sensors and four temperature probes. Their Wireless Leaf and Soil Moisture/Temperature station comes without any sensors, allowing you to customize your sensor configuration.

Davis Instruments wireless temperature stations allow you to place an extra temperature sensor almost anywhere. Their wireless temperature/humidity stations include a passive solar radiation shield made of a proprietary plastic designed for high thermal reflectance and low thermal conductivity. You'll get very accurate data... even in sunny areas.

wWireless Vantage Pro2 console/receiver over any one of eight user-selectable ID codes and have a transmitting range of between 200 and 1,000 ft., depending upon the environment. Any of these sensor stations may also be used with wireless Weather Envoy and Envoy8X.

Do you need to monitor temperature, humidity, moisture, or wetness in any special location? If so, then Davis Instruments Sensor Stations, from DX Engineering, will easily cover the need.

The wireless Vantage Pro2 Plus is a research-grade professional weather station that includes all the features of the VantagePro2, plus UV and Solar Radiation sensors. The Vantage Pro2 Plus provides accurate, reliable weather monitoring with real-time data updates every 2.5 seconds. It features an industry-leading transmission range of 1000'/300m from the sensor suite to the included WeatherLink Console. In addition to UV and Solar radiation sensors, Vantage Pro2 includes:

  • outside temperature and humidity sensors housed in a passive radiation shield
  • wind speed and direction
  • rainfall

Complete Features:

  • Accurate, reliable weather monitoring with real-time data updates every 2.5 seconds
    • Industry-leading transmission range of 1,000 ft. / 300 m from the sensor suite to the console
    • The sensor suite includes outside temperature and humidity sensors in passive radiation shield, wind speed, and direction; rainfall; and UV and Solar radiation
    • Sensor suite’s rugged, weather-proof housing gives you years of reliable data
    • Mount the anemometer up to 40’/12 m from the rest of the sensor suite for flexible siting
    • Includes WeatherLink Console (6313) with a vibrant, HD color touchscreen
    • The sensor suite is solar-powered with battery backup; the console is AC-powered with battery backup

WeatherLink Console

The WeatherLink Console revolutionizes the way you access, analyze, and understand your hyperlocal weather data reported by your Vantage Pro2™orVantage Vue® sensor suite, or your custom network of multiple Davis sensors. One intuitive device lets you receive and display data from your local network and connect to Wi-Fi to push your data to the WeatherLink Cloud.

WeatherLink Features:

  • Use the vibrant HD touchscreen to easily navigate, view, and analyze your weather data on one intuitive device
  • Customize the dashboard to show up to 21 parameters – from temperature to wind to rain – and see the information that matters to you
  • Use the full database of historical records stored right on the console to create custom graphs and analyze your data
  • Choose from hundreds of parameters and a dozen sounds to get notified about the environmental changes you care about most
  • The WeatherLink Console is a fully functional and powerful data display, storage, and analysis tool on its own – no Wi-Fi required. Or you can connect to Wi-Fi to join the WeatherLink community and upload and share data safely and securely

Standard Radiation Shield

The passive Radiation Shield protects temperature sensors from solar radiation and radiated or reflected heat sources.

Standard Radiation Shield Features:

  • A temperature probe placed in the direct sun, or where it is exposed to a radiant heat source such as a building or concrete will not provide accurate air temperature readings
  • This radiation shield is the most effective passive shield available
  • Multi-plate construction for maximum airflow
  • May be mounted on a metal pipe or wood surface
  • Use with Wireless Temperature Station or Leaf & Soil Moisture/Temperature Station and all temperature sensors used to measure air temperature

UV Sensor:

Davis Instruments UV index sensor measures the sunburning portion of the UV spectrum. It measures global solar UV irradiance: the sum of the components of solar UV transmitted directly and those scattered in the atmosphere. It reports the UV index, dose rate, and daily and accumulative doses of UV light. This sensor is an excellent addition to the Vantage Pro2 weather station.

UV Sensor Features:

  • Measures the sunburning portion of the UV spectrum. Allows you to display UV index, dose rate, and daily and accumulated dose
  • Diffuser provides excellent cosine response
  • Measures global solar UV irradiance, which includes both directly transmitted and scattered UV
  • Transducer responds only to radiation in the region of interest and is stable in the presence of heat and humidity
  • Cutoff ring with a comb structure for cosine response of ± 4% FS
  • Two-piece housing minimizes radiation heating, allows convection cooling of the sensor, and prevents the trapping of water or dust

Solar Radiation Sensor:

  • Measures solar radiation for evapotranspiration (ET) and Temperature/Humidity/Sun/Wind (THSW) Index
  • Diffuser element and housing are carefully designed for accurate cosine response
  • Silicon photo diode provides a good match to the solar spectrum
